About yours truly
My name is Lars O. Overskeid, it's been over 28 years ago since I was born (time_ago_in_words() ftw!).
I live in the suburbs of Oslo with my beautiful girlfriend, pretty much at the same place where I grew up.
My hacking career started back in the days with some simple PHP sites and WAP-games, moving on to Perl and Java, and later evolving into a career as a full-time developer. The language-of-choice these days are Ruby, which I started using in 2007 when I started working for Skalar AS (best workplace ever).
A typical day at work for me involves maintaining some of our past projects; refactoring and ensuring test coverage, as well as adding new must-have features. When I'm not working on old code, I get to work on a lot of exciting challenges and by that constantly evolve my knowledge of this beautiful language and framework we are using. Our team consists of four guys with completely different backgrounds; Victor Barrerra (CEO), Trym Skaar (Developer/CTO), Ken Paulsen (Developer/Guru), and myself (Developer/Lobo).
Besides from being a full-time geek, I also enjoy learning about photography, often combined with being out in the wilderness fishing, or doing my signature snowboard trick "ass-plant" in some of the beautiful slopes here in Norway.
